A lot of people would say practicing before proposing is a good idea, especially if you're going to do it in public.

This guy had plenty of practice. He popped the question every day for a year. Then he compiled them all into one video for when he did it for real.

Dean Smith recorded a message shortly before proposing to Jennifer Kessel, and he recorded a second video a year later. Dean from 2014 and Dean from 2015 spoke to each other, explaining that Dean had decided to propose every day for a year.

All of Dean's proposals were compiled into one video, which Jennifer watched on a beach in Aruba on her birthday in January 2015 (starting around 3 minutes in the video above). He had several different ways of asking her, and he wrote each down on a whiteboard.

To keep the video interesting, Dean proposes while doing a variety of activities, including working out, showering and gardening. Friends and family sometimes appear holding the message for Jennifer, too. After the last video proposal, taken from the balcony of their hotel (14:21 in the video), the video tells Jennifer to "turn around."

When Jennifer turns around, the sun is setting behind Dean as he stands dressed up on the beach, holding his final whiteboard. Jennifer, clutching a tissue, goes to meet her boyfriend. A crowd that has gathered watches as Dean gets on one knee to finally ask her out loud.

Jennifer is crying as she accepts his proposal and lets him put the ring on her finger. The onlookers cheer, and Jennifer and Dean kiss before Jennifer gets embraced by loved ones.
