A trip to a flea market turned into a sentimental discovery for two Texas families whose sons have served in the Marine Corps.

Patsy Maciel's son Fred died when his helicopter crashed in Iraq in 2005. The military gave her a flag to drape his casket and a box of his belongings.

Little did Maciel know, another flag honoring her son existed.

Lanie and Walter Brown found Fred's tribute flag at a flea market. It's covered with heartfelt messages from surviving members of his unit.

The Browns bought it for $5 and found Maciel through social media.

"I was real blessed that both of my boys came home in one piece and I have a huge responsibility to her," Lanie Brown said.

"One family, marine family, to another. I can't wait to read what they wrote," Maciel said.

The Browns will give Maciel the flag in person on Friday.
