Sometimes posting a cute video of your kids online will give your relatives a chance to smile. Sometimes, though, it inadvertently gives your kids a chance to have a cool experience, like getting to meet their heroes.

In October, Ava Lane asked her mother if she could meet our country's first president.

When her mother explained to the then 4-year-old that the rendez-vous was not a possibility, Ava was less than pleased.

Her mom, Gina, took a video of Ava's adorable meltdown and posted it online to amuse friends and family.

It caught the attention of some people who could make Ava's dreams come true, after all: George Washington University. As you can probably guess, George Washington attends all of their basketball games. He's their mascot.

Ava was invited by George Washington University to come meet the man himself, at least in mascot form. Ava and her family attended GW's Nov. 24 home basketball game against Duquesne, which the home team won 74-59. Ava got VIP treatment, including a specially reserved seat and some time on the jumbo-tron.

"The entire weekend was fabulous and I don't know how we could ever thank the people that made it possible enough!" Gina's mom told ABC.

The family also got a tour of the Mount Vernon Estate where Washington lived. Ava's mom said the big trip that came out of her daughter's small moment of distress was more than she could have imagined.

"They went above and beyond to welcome us and to make our visit very special for Ava and the entire family."

And of course, she got what she'd wanted all along: some quality time with Mr. Washington.
