There are many great sandwich combinations - peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, and the BLT. But one unusual combo captured the attention of many on social media.

For NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., bananas and mayo make for his combination of choice. Now people are sounding off on social media, some who love the sandwich and others who find it "repulsing."

"I swear it's delicious," Earnhardt added.

He also tweeted that Elvis ate a similar sandwich that was fried.

The Daytona NASCAR Integrated Marketing Communications team tweeted a video of them trying the sandwich and giving it thumbs up.

Even Hellmann's chimed in on the conversation.

So we want to know -- would you try a banana and mayonnaise sandwich?
