Bride's wish comes true, despite cancer battle
Cherise Beyelia has stage four non-Hodgkin lymphoma and possibly only months to live, so she was grateful her one wish has come true.

SAN RAMON, Calif. (KGO) -- I had the opportunity to meet an incredible San Ramon woman back in May. A loyal volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Cherise Beyelia is fighting cancer herself and back when I met her, she only had one wish, to marry her sweetheart. Now, that wish came true.

Beyelia walked down the aisle at the San Roman Golf Club Friday evening to marry her fiance Erik Sturdevant. It was a day Cherise wasn't sure she'd live to see. She has Stage IV non-Hodgkin lymphoma and possibly only months to live. So this wedding day was truly a dream come true.

"I was really relieved that it was here and I was happy that I get to see him," Beyelia said.

Sealed with a kiss, the couple knows this day was made possible thanks to generous people. Some were strangers who donated money and services to make it happen.

"It's great to know that there are people out there with such huge hearts and that actually care about people they don't even know," Beyelia said.

"It was surprising how much everybody came out of the woodwork and helped us make this day a day we'd never forget," groom Erik Sturdevant said.

When I met Cherise in May she couldn't do a lot of walking. So she worked on strengthening her legs so she could actually walk down the aisle.

Congratulations to Beyelia and her husband!
