OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The California Highway Patrol has fulfilled a special birthday wish for a patient at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.

Eight-year-old Justin was brought to the hospital from outside the Bay Area after he fell on his birthday and severely injured his kidney.

With no family nearby, the Oakland CHP staff visited him daily.

Justin was finally released Monday and as a special gift, he finally got his birthday party -- at the CHP's Oakland office.

Like a lot of little boys and girls, Justin loves trains, so BART police escorted Justin and his family through the Transbay Tube and gave them a full tour of how BART trains operate.
