17 products recalled at Claire's locations after discovering asbestos

Products pulled off store shelves at Claire's locations around the country
The recall was prompted by an investigation that was launched by a mother who discovered asbestos int the makeup kits.

FRESNO, Calif. -- The recall was prompted by an investigation that was launched by a mother who discovered asbestos in her daughter's makeup kit.

According to the FDA the kit, tested positive for the toxic substance.

Because of the discovery, 16 other products sold at Claire's have been pulled. An investigation is under way into the alleged issues.

Claire's say they will work with their vendors to ensure their products are tested and assessed in line with the relevant county regulations and guidelines.
