SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Still thinking about putting up Christmas lights this year?

You may be wondering whether it's worth it to pay more now for LED lights instead of the traditional incandescent lights.

LED lights can cost two times what you'll pay for incandescent.

But DealNews Mark LoCastro says the extra money is worth it in the long run.

"The EPA actually estimated if you were to light maybe a six foot Christmas tree for 12 hours a day within ten years, that would cost you $122 for incandescent bulbs compared to just $18 dollars for led bulbs," explained Locastro.
