Bay Area LIFE: New tool helps save water when painting
A man has created a tool called Paint Piranha aimed to help save hundreds of millions of gallons of water per year across the United States.

Shining star! One man's invention is helping people save water when painting.

The Paint Piranha is a tool to help clean your paint brushes. Richard Junkins is the inventor and believes hundreds of millions of gallons of water per year will be saved in California and all of the United States. Brush cleaning that once took a gallon of water, now takes a pint. That's the same as buying or using one gallon of water and saving up to 7 gallons.

The Paint Piranha also saves paint by allowing you to recover and reuse paint removed from brushes and rollers. Using the Paint Piranha helps relieve the aggravation that usually comes with taking on a painting project. The Piranha has a scraper for cleaning the handle of a paint brush. They also have a second device called the Mini-Piranha that cleans out small art brushes and a third for makeup brushes.
