HOUSTON (KGO) -- A Houston homeowner's plan to go green has earned him the reputation of having one of the most unusual homes in the country.

It even has a nickname -- the "beer can" house -- and it's easy to see why!

A Houston homeowner has collected an estimated 50,000 cans of beer that now decorate his house.

Homeowner John started the project back in 1968 when he bought the home.

Since then he's collected an estimated 50,000 cans of beer, and now has them strung up around his home. They even serve as aluminum garland hanging from the roof.
