SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The jury in the Kate Steinle murder trial has gone home until after the Thanksgiving holiday. Deliberations will resume on Monday, November 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m.

The jury will have to consider a full range of charges that go from manslaughter to first-degree murder.

Wednesday was a short day for the jurors, they deliberated for three hours and then the judge let them go home for the Thanksgiving holiday.

TIMELINE: How the Kate Steinle case unfolded

They must decide if Jose Ines Garcia Zarate intentionally shot Kate Steinle or if it was an accident. His defense team really focused on the fact that the bullet ricocheted off the ground, saying they think that shows he wasn't aiming, that it was an accident.

Prosecutors say they think he aimed and the fact that he tossed the gun into the water showed he was covering his tracks. Both sides have been arguing the case for almost a month, the shooting happened two years ago.
