There are 160 ski resorts, including some here in California, that are going for a Guinness World Record on Friday.

Their goal is to have the largest ever ski and snowboard lesson.

Trained instructors will teach lessons for beginners in separate classes, which kick off simultaneously at 10 a.m. in each time zone.

This is all in celebration of Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

Resorts such as Mammoth, Kirkwood and Heavenly Mountain are all taking part in the attempt.
