New technology changing how fans watch sports
For all the changes soon to happen on the field and on the sidelines, perhaps the biggest impact of technology will be on the fan experience, both at home and at the stadium.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Football has changed a lot in the last 50 years, and it's a pretty good bet it will change a lot more in the next 50.

A lot has happened since Joe Montana made that historic throw to Dwight Clark. The legendary quarterback is now a venture capitalist.

"I've been seeing all kinds of technology at different levels and some of it is crazy," said Montana.

NFL players have begun wearing radio trackers during games. Officials are on headsets. Coaches are on tablets and using that tracker data to plan workouts.

For all the changes soon to happen on the field and on the sidelines, perhaps the biggest impact of technology will be on the fan experience, both at home and at the stadium.
