During the opening, it was mobbed with fans as people wanted to get close to the NFL star and pick up some of his signature clothing.

"We're here to see the opening of the store of one of the greatest football players in history," Lynch fan Sabina Gross-Boyd said.

Lynch himself didn't have much to say, but his mother did, especially about her son's commitment to give some of the proceeds to charity.

Delisa Lynch said, "He's just like a big giant teddy bear... And it's really just a positive thing for Oakland. This is what we need... all of our stores are closing, but to have Marshawn come back, open a store in the heart of Downtown Oakland it's amazing."
