Utility crews have stopped a gas leak in Richmond this evening, according to PG&E spokesman JD Guidi.

The leak was reported at 5:43 p.m. at 242 25th St., and crews arrived on scene at 6:03 p.m.

Utility workers determined that a carport had collapsed at that location, damaging a gas meter below, Guidi said.

The flow of gas was shut off at 7:05 p.m., according to Guidi.
