Morgan Hill residents advised to lock homes due to recent incidents

Morgan Hill residents have been advised to lock their homes in response to a robbery, attempted burglary and suspicious circumstance within the past week, police said Tuesday.

The most recent incident happened around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, when officers responded to a report of a home invasion in the 17000 block of Rosemary Circle, police said.

Responding officers spoke with the victims, who reported two suspects went inside their home and demanded they open the safe, according to police.

The suspects were two Hispanic men who claimed they had a weapon that the victims never saw, police said.

The robbers left in a dark silver car with an undisclosed amount of money and items, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Both suspects were described as Hispanic men with Spanish accents, according to police.

One of the suspects stood about 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighed about 140 pounds and wore a black ski mask that concealed the bottom half of his face, police said.

The other suspect was described as standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, and wore a black ski mask, black hoodie and dark pants, according to police.

Investigators are seeking video surveillance from neighbors in the area, police said.

The attempted burglary happened around 9:15 a.m. Friday, when a female resident reported a suspect tried to get in her home in the 400 block of Cascades Court with a pry tool, according to police.

When she opened the blinds, the suspect fled south toward the Morgan Hill Community Park, police said.

The suspect was described as a male standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. He wore a black beanie with holes over his eyes and mouth, black or blue jeans and a gray sweatshirt, according to police.

A neighbor reported a dark-colored SUV was seen leaving the area around the time of the interrupted burglary, according to police.

Officers responded to the scene and searched for the suspect without success, police said.

On Thursday shortly after 6:30 a.m., a person living in the 17000 block of Tassajara Circle saw a person in their backyard and notified police.

Officers went to the home but couldn't find the suspect, who was described as a dark-skinned male in black and gray clothes, police said.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call police Detective Fernando Del Moral at (408) 779-2101.
