REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- In case you didn't know it, Monday is Square Root Day. It's 4-4-16. As you'll take note, both the day and month are the square root of the last two digits of the year.

There are nine of these days per century. The next will happen on Cinco de Mayo in 2025.

Square Root Day was founded by Ron Gordon, a teacher in Redwood City. He keeps this website up about the special day.

Gordon suggests it's a good day to get things squared away, or go square dancing.
