Giant Louisiana alligator shocks dad, daughter while fishing

LOUISIANA (KGO) -- A father and daughter who were fishing in Louisiana got quite a shock when an unexpected guest made an appearance.

An enormous alligator poked its powerful jaws out of the water just moments before the father checked a fishing noodle he was using as a bobber.

The fishing noodle was used to let him know when a catfish had bitten, but something heavy was pulling it down. That's when he pulled the noodle free and the alligator made its presence known.

The girl's father believes the alligator was bigger than his 13-foot kayak.
