FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) -- For the first time, Michael Anthony Blas Fejarang, 57, came before a judge in the case of the kidnapping and killing 3-year-old Clark Toshiro Handa. Handa was abducted from his Fairfield bedroom in August of 1984, and was never seen again.

Fejarang was a family friend. He's now serving time in Valley State Prison in Chowchilla for other child molestation cases.

Handa's dad, sister and uncle came to see his accused kidnapper and killer face to face in court for the first time.

"I want peace for the whole family to say goodbye we were never able to say goodbye," said Handa's sister.

A cold case investigation by the FBI and Fairfield police, along with new technology, led to Fejarang's arrest.

Fejarang can face life without the possibility of parole or death. He is being held in the Solano County Jail with no bail.
