Asian Pacific American Roundtable

Each week we focus on a different subject, affecting people who live and work in the Bay Area. This special roundtable episode features ABC7's own Kristen Sze as guest moderator with leaders in our local Asian Pacific American community.

The last United States Census in 2010 found that people who identified as Asian, either alone or in combination with one or more other races, grew by 45.6% from 2000 to 2010,

This is a much faster rate than the total U.S. population, which increased by 9.7% during the same time frame.

According to the Library of Congress, the term "Asian-Pacific" encompasses all of the Asian continent...As well as the Pacific Islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.

The people and cultures of this region have added significantly to the rich diversity of the Bay Area.
