Sean Day said he was still awake when he heard unusual noise coming from Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando.

"I was in my bed, watching a movie. Around 2 o'clock I just heard a lot of popping. I looked out my bedroom window and saw people running," Day said.

He said he heard more than 100 shots. (Click on the video player above to watch his full interview with Eyewitness News reporter Josh Einiger)

"I saw a cop run into the bar and return fire. And shortly after it was surrounded, but the gunfire still continued," Day said.

He said he and his roommates watched out the window as the ordeal unfolded, as they saw people run in all directions from the club.

"It was surreal. I didn't know what was going on. But it has sunk in now," Day said.
