1 killed, 1 injured after car strikes pedestrians in Oakley
One person was killed and another was injured after a car struck pedestrians in Oakley.

OAKLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- A teenage girl was killed and another teen was critically injured after a car struck them head-on as they were walking along a road in Oakley.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. at Bethel Island and East Cypress roads when a Ford station wagon struck the two teenagers as they were walking along the side of the road.

One teen died at the scene and the other was transported by helicopter to Children's Hospital Oakland.

Investigators are on the scene and they are trying to determine the cause of the accident.

There was no word on whether or not the driver was injured.
