PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found inside a Palo Alto home Thursday evening as "likely a homicide."

The woman was in her 60s, but hasn't been identified as of Friday afternoon, according to police.

A relative who was looking for the woman found her body at a home in the 300 block of Creekside Drive and called dispatch at around 7:40 p.m., police said.

Officers responded to the home where they conducted an investigation and secured a search warrant to the woman's Creekside Drive home Friday morning, according to police.

"They were talking to someone in a white truck right where that SUV's parked, and then like 13 more cop cars showed up and more fire trucks and ambulances, and they set up the crime scene, and we were in it, and we had to move back and then we couldn't see anything after that," said one neighbor, who didn't want to give her name.

Investigators have been processing the crime scene and are expected to continue on Saturday, police said.

They will interview people who knew the woman or may know what happened to her, according to police.

Detectives ruled out suicide as a cause of death and don't have any significant leads in the case, according to police.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office has taken custody of the body and will conduct an autopsy, police said.

Anyone with information surrounding the death is asked to call police dispatch at (650) 329-2413. Those who wish to remain anonymous may send an email to paloaltotipnow.org or send a text message or voice mail to (650) 383-8984.
