Hillary Clinton promised Americans steady leadership as she accepted the Democratic presidential nomination on the final night of the party's convention in Philadelphia. Calling her nomination a milestone on America's "march toward a more perfect union," Clinton presented herself as an experienced leader in volatile times who can unify the country.

Hillary Clinton made history after becoming the first woman in U.S. history to officially accept the nomination for president saying: "My friends it's with humility, determination and boundless confidence in America's promise that I accept your nomination."


Clinton begins the next chapter in her 40-year odyssey, one she hopes will end with an historic journey back to the White House.

On this biggest stage of her career, Clinton focused on the theme 'stronger together.'

Several times she took dead aim at Donald Trump. "A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man you can trust with nuclear weapons," Clinton said.

Earlier, Chelsea Clinton introduced her mother. "That feeling of being valued and loved, that's what my mom wants for every child," she said.

Hillary Clinton sought to draw a sharp contrast between herself and Donald Trump as she ticked off one policy difference after another with her Republican opponent. Clinton assailed Trump's record as a businessman, questioned whether he has the temperament to be commander in chief, and accused him of offering "empty promises."
