San Jose police investigating fatal shooting
San Jose police are investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose police are investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday.

No arrests have been made and police have not identified any suspects in this crime.

Police are still on the scene Friday morning, looking for evidence around a white Mercedes.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Willow and Sherman streets. A man died on scene of at least one gunshot wound, police say.

Police say the shooting victim tried to chase a robber when the suspect turned around and fatally shot him.

The coroner's office is working to identify the victim.

Police believe the shooter has left the area and it's still blocked off. There's no estimated time that the area will reopen.
