Mom of twin daughters who died in hot car: "I'm sorry"
The mother of twins who died in a hot car said she wishes she could tell her daughters she's sorry. Tyler Perry has reportedly reached out with an offer to cover the funeral expenses.

CARROLL COUNTY, GA -- The mother of twins who died in a hot car said she wishes she could tell her daughters, Ariel and Alyanah, she's sorry.

In her interview with a local station WSB, Breal Ellis said, "I was with them every day and the one day I left...I just want to tell them I'm sorry. They didn't deserve to die like that or to die, period, but I know they're in heaven."

Police say the girls died after their father, Asa North, left the 15-month-old twins inside his car on August 4. North was drunk at the time, according to police. Ellis was out of town visiting her sister who had been hurt in a car accident.

Officers called to the apartment complex say they found neighbors trying to cool the girls down in the pool with ice packs.

North is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.

Ellis said she was having trouble getting the money together to bury her daughters. She said she had created a GoFundMe page and asked the public for help.

Entertainer Tyler Perry, WSB reports, reached out to the station and offered to cover the funeral expenses.
