Origami tops weekend events in San Francisco
What's the best price? Free, of course! With the weekend right around the corner, we have three free activities for you to enjoy. We've partnered with the team at Hoodline to bring you what's new and happening right now in San Francisco.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- We've partnered with the team at Hoodline - the hyperlocal neighborhood website - to bring you what's new and happening this weekend in San Francisco.

We are immersing you in culture this weekend with a touch of Japan and the Phillipines.

Let's begin with origami. Japantown happens to be home of a family run origami shop called Paper Tree. This is their 49th year. The place is now run by two sisters who love to teach and design origami pieces like you wouldn't believe.

Check it out on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Japan Center East Mall, where you too can learn how to make Pikachu from the masters, enter origami contests and see why the artform is more popular than ever.

You could also hit up the largest Filipino celebration on this side of the pacific. The Pistahan Festival happens at Yerba Buena Gardens Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The parade is Saturday at 11 a.m. from Civic Center Plaza to Yerba Buena Gardens.
