SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A lifelong 49er fan now has a small part in the team's new start at Levi Stadium thanks to Seven on Your Side's Michael Finney.

The love of a devoted 49er fan bought her husband a commemorative brick to be laid outside the main entrance to Levi Stadium. But getting it there proved to be difficult

The catch that sent the 49ers to Super Bowl 16 is not only a big moment in Niner history, it's also huge in Andy Arrenquin's family.

Andy was just four years old in 1982, but he recalls his father's reaction through stories passed down by the family.

"My dad cried. His dad was a Niner fan. He passed away a couple of months before that," said Arrenquin, who lives in Yuba City.

Andy has the highlight of that game on VHS. He also has a football commemorating the catch autographed by Joe Montana and Dwight Clark. When Andy's wife toured Levi Stadium with him and saw how much he admired the commemorative bricks, she knew what she had to do.

She purchased one for him as a surprise - "just because I love," she said.

Shelly kept her purchase a secret. A replica of the brick arrived in the mail when shelly was at work.

"He opened it and he was very surprised to see it there," she laughs,

"When I called her, I'm like what did you do. What is this? Why is this here," he said.

The brick was supposed to be installed at the stadium by the summer. But the 49ers told her a Taylor Swift concert forced a delay. Then there was the little thing called Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium.

She would learn shortly before the Super Bowl that the brick promotion ended in December. At that point, both gave up hope of seeing the brick installed.

"I thought we paid $300 to have the brick stay by my TV. I was a little bit disappointed," Andy said.

Shelly called 7 on Your Side, who called the 49ers. The 49ers said they were able to coordinate the construction schedule to get Andy's brick to in the San Francisco 49ers fanwalk before the start of the 2016 season.

Shelly and Andy were both overjoyed when they saw the brick.

"It means a lot to me. I have to thank my wife for doing this for me and you guys for helping us get this done," said Andy.
