Union City schools reboot laptop program for students

UNION CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- Schools in Union City are rebooting a program that gave kids laptop computers to take home. The experiment had some unexpected results.

Chromebooks are the Google laptops these schools got three years ago, the only Bay Area district to win a federal Race To the Top grant. Students all got their own laptops, or that was the plan. Jonathan Bloom explains what happened to the program in his full report.
