'Showgirls' musical tops weekend events in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- We've partnered with the team at Hoodline - the hyperlocal neighborhood website - to bring you what's new and happening this weekend in San Francisco.

"Showgirls," the musical version is making its West Coast premier in San Francisco's Mission District. It stars a local legendary drag queen who also produces and directs.

Joshua Grannell, also known as Peaches Christ when he is in full drag plays Cristal Connors, the aging Showgirl about to be replaced by a younger version of herself. The musical plays through Saturday at the Victoria Theatre.

A sports festival for marijuana fans called the 420 Games is being held at HARVEST from 4:20 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 27.

Also, the 5th Annual Bay Area Brew Festival is being held at Pier 35 on from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 27.

And don't miss a Kurt Russell inspired art show, which is being held at Public Works from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on August 27.
