Man arrested for fatal shooting outside Walnut Creek sports bar

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- Police arrested a man Sunday accused of fatally shooting another man outside a popular sports bar on Locust Street in Walnut Creek.

The Central County Regional SWAT Team conducted a search warrant on Michael Place in Bay Point and arrested Larry Griffin for homicide.

Police say Courtney Brown, 38, had just left Crogan's Sports Bar & Grill Saturday when he was confronted by a gunman in his 20s. Brown died later at a hospital.

Police say Brown leaves behind two daughters.

This is the city's first homicide of the year.
