On Sunday night, hundreds of people joined a candlelight vigil for senior Izaiah Mease and Joe Junior Ioramo, an 11th grade independent studies student, who both died in the car crash. A third student was also in the car and is in the hospital.

Mease, the driver, died at the scene. He was a running back and linebacker for the Logan football team.

"If I had a daughter, he is the type of young man I would like her to be with. He is everything you can ask from a young man, respectful, honest, hardworking," said Zac McNally, James Logan High football coach.

"It's not going to be a normal day. Logan students are resilient supportive of each other," said Principal Abhi Brar of James Logan High School in Union City

Brar says he will do all he can to help students deal with their grief when they return to school on Tuesday. "They were very well known on our campus. Absolutely involved in every core curricular, extra curricular and academic activity. and It's a big loss for us," said Principal Brar.

The principal says, even though this is a tough time, he encourages parents to send their kids to school on Tuesday.

"I think it's important. Students with peers need to see one another, be with each other, even if it just to say hi and hug and cry together," said Brar.

The CHP is still investigating the cause of the crash.
