SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) --Muni riders may soon be able to stay connected to the outside world when they travel underground.
Until now, Muni riders were cut off from cell service when they went underground. Muni had said in the past it wanted to invest in its service, repairs to trains, so cell service had to wait, until now.

City leaders have a press conference planned for Wednesday morning to announce the new service. The press announcement didn't say whether the service is already in place now.
