MENLO PARK, Calif. -- A search this morning of a Menlo Park home in conjunction with a firearms and criminal street gang investigation led fire and building inspectors to deem the home uninhabitable, police said.

Menlo Park and East Palo Alto police and the FBI served a search warrant at 5 a.m. at the home in the 1300 block of Sevier Avenue.

Several people in the home were detained and all but one was later released.

A search of the home turned up numerous building code violations that made the home unsafe, such as modified kitchen, bathroom and living spaces and illegally modified gas and electrical systems, police said.
