San Carlos police say boy harassed by driver near school
Police said a boy was walking near a San Carlos school when a man repeatedly asked him if he wanted a ride.

SAN CARLOS, Calif. (KGO) -- Police said a boy was walking on the 700 block of Cedar Street in front of Central Middle School on his way to a friend's house when a man pulled up on the street in a car and started asking him repeatedly if he wanted a ride. The boy said he didn't need a ride and if he kept bugging him, he would call police. The driver took off northbound on Cedar Street.

The boy talked to his mom and who called the sheriff's office. Investigators say they don't know if the driver was legitimately trying to help the boy, or if he was intending to do something criminal. They say the man was driving a new model, silver sedan. He is described as about 70-years-old with grey and white medium length hair.

The sheriff's office says this is a good opportunity to talk to your kids about this type of scenario and what they should do if it happens to them.
