3 injured in big rig accident on SB Hwy 101 in San Jose
Multiple people have been injured involving a big rig and vehicle that is blocking multiple SB Hwy 101 lanes in San Jose.

SAN JOSE (KGO) -- Three people have been injured after an accident involving a big rig and vehicle on SB Hwy 101 in San Jose between Hwy 87 and Brokaw Road. The accident blocked lanes for more than five hours.

An Acura SUV ended up overturned in a ditch with two women inside. They were able to crawl out and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the UPS truck got out of his truck on his own. He also had what appeared to be minor injuries.

This is the second UPS freight truck to overturn on a Bay Area highway this week. A UPS truck overturned Wednesday morning on the Hacienda Drive on ramp to eastbound I-580. That tow truck company, Golden State Fleet Services, used air bags to lift that truck up, instead of off-loading it. They estimate it saved between two to four hours.
