SFPD continue search for gunmen who shot 4 students
Gunfire erupted near a Bay Area high school and terrified students were forced to run for cover.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Classes are still in session on Wednesday at June Jordan High School in San Francisco following chaos and terror. Four students were shot at 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday and police are still looking for the gunmen.

Police say they have some leads but are still looking for the shooter. That doesn't do much to ease some students' nerves.

"That tells you that we need more security because you don't know what's going to happen. You don't know if somebody is going to die the next day or come back and shoot again and come to our school," one student said.

School officials will have extra security on campus Wednesday. They will also have grief counselors for the students.

Shots were fired into a group of students in the school's parking lot at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. Three boys and a girl were shot.

Investigators say it was a targeted hit and they know who the target was.

The girl has life-threatening injuries. The boys were shot in the lower extremities and are expected to be OK.

Students say it was terrifying. One girl was so nervous she didn't want her name or face revealed on camera.

Students and teachers barricaded themselves in classrooms, unsure whether this was another mass shooting.

Police searched every classroom for the shooters. It turns out four suspects had fired on the students standing outside of the school and were seen running away from the scene.

Three of the four victims were taken to the hospital. One male student was released Tuesday.

Police haven't said what the motive was behind the shootings.
