The bullet was successfully removed in surgery and she's expected to make a full physical recovery.
However, her family is very concerned about how this is affecting her emotionally. Her family says she is an honor roll student and an innocent victim.
Three boys were also injured in the shooting. Police have said this was not a random shooting, but they have not said which of the four students shot was the intended target.
United Playaz organized a peace rally Thursday afternoon to send a message and receiving support from San Francisco police. "Tonight's rally is so vitally important in terms of raising awareness, to curbing violence not only within this corridor, this district, but throughout the city," San Francisco Police Department Capt. Daryl Fong said.
It was held at 6th and Minna streets in response to five shootings in the South of Market area within the last two weeks.
This peace rally is for students and people that live in the area.
There are many unanswered questions that remain about the school shooting. For instance, the father of the female victim wants to know where the school resource officer was when the shooting broke out and if there is always one at the school.
