Ryan Walterhouse and Giovanni LoVerde are just the latest Oakland police officer criminally charged. "I'd love to tell you something, but my lawyer Michael Cardoza told me not to," Walterhouse said.

The 26-year-old was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony conspiracy to obstruct justice and misdemeanor prostitution.

He pleaded not guilty in a Hayward courtroom.

"From the facts that I know now, we're heading to a trial," said Cardoza. "And we'll let a jury decide what the truth is."

Moments earlier, another Oakland officer Giovanni LoVerde also pleaded not guilty to a charge that he had oral sex with an underage prostitute.

"I would really like to be able to share my story with you guys, but I've been advised by my lawyer not to make any statements at this time," LoVerde said.

Moments earlier, another Oakland officer Giovanni LoVerde also pleaded not guilty to a charge that he had oral sex with an underage prostitute.

"He never met her," said Cardoza, who is representing both men. "He never had sex with her, but yet he's accused of it and I understand the volatility of those charges. You hear that? And everyone jumps to cop, guilty. You're all wrong."

Loverde is among seven officers from Oakland and other agencies criminally charged for their alleged contacts with Jasmine Abusalin, formerly known as Celeste Guap.
