ABC7, Disney donates $15,000 to Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano

CONCORD, Calif. (KGO) -- ABC7 has partnered with Bay Area food banks the last 25-years to help feed our communities with our annual Give Where You Live Thanksgiving food drive.

ABC7s Give Where You Live Thanksgiving food drive is our way of helping all seven Bay Area food banks serve the 840,000 people in need of food each month. That number actually increased from 780,000 last year.

On Monday, ABC7 News weather anchor Spencer Christian presented the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, with a $15,000 donation from ABC7 and our parent company Disney.

The food bank serves 190,000 people each month. "With this check we're going to be able to provide 30,000 meals to those peopel in need," said FBCCS executive director Larry Sly.

If you'd like to help, text the word FEED to number 80077 to donate $10 to Bay Area food banks. When prompted, reply with YES to confirm the donation and have it added to your phone bill.
