Hundreds of people gathered in San Jose Sunday to support the rights of undocumented immigrants who fear deportation under President-elect Donald Trump's administration.


"We fight for everyone," one woman said.

Hundreds stood in the rain outside San Jose City Hall to support those without a voice. "There's a lot of people that are in great fear in our own neighborhoods and certainly in other parts of country. And it's our responsibility to care about them as well," California Assembly member-elect Ash Kalra said.

This show of unity brought members of Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities who fear Trump could deport undocumented people living in the U.S. "I'm here to support all these folks that are feeling really vulnerable and fearful in these times post-election," Wesley United Methodist Church Rev. Keith Inouye said.

Victor Cristobal has been living in California as an undocumented person for 16 years. "We have the right to stay here, I pay taxes, he doesn't pay taxes," San Jose resident Victor Cristobal said.

Next month Santa Clara supervisor Dave Cortese will propose legal aid help for undocumented people. "This is not Trump country, this is a place where we have built a great deal of our Democratic values around policies of inclusion for immigrants, 44 percent of our population here is foreign born," Santa Clara County Supervisor Dave Cortese said.

More rallies are planned for the future.
