SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A sweet holiday tradition kicked off Wednesday in San Francisco.

The Westin Saint Francis unveiled not one, but two sugar castles, the work of executive pastry chef Jean-Francois Houdré and his team.

One is a recreation of a 2005 design of a French chateau, and the other is a 12-foot castle, featuring gingerbread trees and colored candies.

Houdre originally started building the castles 12 years ago for his kids, but he says it's grown incredibly from there. He says he's proud of what he and his team accomplish.
