Tourists offer mixed reactions to Trump Inauguration at San Francisco's Pier 39
America has made it through one of the most divisive elections in U.S. history, but whether Friday's Presidential Inauguration has helped bring Americans together remains to be seen.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- America has made it through one of the most divisive elections in U.S. history, but whether Friday's Presidential Inauguration has helped bring Americans together remains to be seen.

At popular tourist spot Pier 39 in San Francisco, opinions ranged across the spectrum.

Wait and see is what former President Barack Obama has been asking the public to do.

"I like to imagine after the 4 years it can be really good, but it's going to be an awful four years to get there," Zach Barr from Houston said.

"I like the fact that we have Trump as our next President. He's giving the power back to the people where it belongs," Donna Fine from Phoenix told ABC7 News.

"I think they're a little bit off base. I think they should allow the new president to do what he's going to do, and I don't think anyone's given him a fair shot yet," Wayne Rosen from Phoenix said.

Meanwhile, after Mr. Obama gave up the @POTUS handle Friday, he tweeted from @BarackObama.

"Hi everybody! Back to the original handle. Is this thing still on? Michelle and I are off on a quick vacation, then we'll get back to work."
