Berkeley's student union vandalized during protest
The U.C. Berkeley campus sustained significant damage during the Milo Yiannopoulos protests that erupted prompting the cancelation of the event.

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- The Martin Luther King Student Union at U.C. Berkeley was vandalized by protesters after the cancellation of the Milo Yiannopoulos speaking event on campus.

The controversial Breitbart editor has been criticized for his extreme views on Islam, LGBT issues, and immigration. Protesters descended on the student center around 5 p.m. and tensions escalated from there as fires were set and objects were thrown at police and campus buildings.
