MONTEREY, Calif. (KGO) -- A Monterey assemblyman wants to change the way plastic water and soda bottles are made.

Assemblyman Mark Stone has introduced a bill that would require single-use plastic bottles sold in the state have their lids tethered to the bottle.

Stone says it will make clean-up much easier as bottle lids are some of the most common items picked up during environmental clean-up days.
