San Bruno city manager disappointed it took 6 years for PG&E ads to run after pipeline explosion
More than six years after the devastating San Bruno Pipeline explosion, PG&E is fulfilling their sentence -- running advertisements in print and on television showing and apologizing for their crimes.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. (KGO) -- More than six years after the devastating San Bruno pipeline explosion, PG&E is fulfilling the terms of their sentence.

Earlier this week they took out full-page ads in the chronicle and Thursday, 60-second ads began appearing on television.

Ads detailing the nature of PG&E's offenses after the explosion started running Thursday.

The commercials and a full-page newspaper ad, that ran in the San Francisco Chronicle Tuesday, were not voluntary.

After being convicted of six felony charges, a San Francisco judge sentenced PG&E to the advertising campaign, a $3 million fine, five-year probation period, independent safety monitoring and 10,000 hours of community service.
