SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- We've partnered with the team at Hoodline - the hyperlocal neighborhood website to find weekend activities in and around the Bay Area.

Summer of Love 50th anniversary

The 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love is just around the corner and is one of the fun things you can do this weekend.

ABC7 News got a sneak peek at the de Young's new exhibit, which is opening Saturday. The Summer of Love experience is meant to immerse you into the psychedelic world of San Francisco circa 1967. The posters that lined the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood are examined for their role in the evolution of pop art. And the fashion of the day is used an example of the overarching theme of the day: Disruption.

Cherry Blossom Festival

San Francisco's Japantown welcomes the 50th year of the Cherry Blossom Festival. It happens on Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore streets. This starts Saturday and goes for two weekends, with the parade next Sunday.

Oakland Film Festival

We end on not a 50th anniversary, but a If you love film, celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original TV series: Roots.

This Saturday, the Oakland Film Festival will host some of the stars of the original series and the more recent reboot.

MORE TO DO: Enjoy the weekend, and don't forget to check out Hoodline's events calendar for more ideas.
