San Jose State University warns women after man tries to assault jogger
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose State University police are warning women to be careful Wednesday as they search for the man who tried to assault a female jogger on campus last night.

"You always have to walk together, walk in pairs, stuff like that. You know, we're always on our headphones, so it's good to take them off every once in a while because it makes it easier for people to sneak up on you and stuff like that," SJSU student Racquel Martins said.
Police are investigating an attempted battery on a student.
San Jose State police say it happened in the area of E. San Fernando St. and 7th Street at about 7:45 Tuesday night. A female jogger was running in the area when a man tried to grab her. She was able to break free and started to run east.
The victim ran a few hundred yards with the man chasing after her as she tried to get away. The jogger ended up at Lot 4 on South 20th Street. She ended up jumping into another student's vehicle to get away from her attacker.
Police say the suspect was last seen at the corner of E. San Fernando and South 10th Street. Officers searched the area but didn't find him.
The incident comes about a week and a half after a man was arrested for allegedly groping five women at San Jose State.
32 year old Cesar Pineda was arrested after being spotted on surveillance video and identified by victims.
For students it just reaffirms the need to be extra careful around campus.
"At night I make sure not to walk around by myself, just because a bunch of things have happened in the past. And I don't want to be the one to be hurt," SJSU student Breann Dunken said.
