NB I-880 lanes reopened after fatal accident in San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- All lanes of NB I-880 in San Leandro have reopened after a man was killed in an accident. One other driver is suffering from major injuries.

The CHP says a Honda Insight was traveling northbound on I-880 just south of Marina Boulevard in San Leandro just before 12:45 a.m. when it was rear ended by a Ford Fusion. The Honda ended up crashing into the center divider then was hit again by a Buick on the driver's side. The Honda then sideswiped a big rig before coming to a rest.

The CHP closed all five lanes. The driver of the Honda died at the scene. He's described as a man about 60-years-old. The driver of the Buick was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The other two drivers are okay.
