SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Tom Sweeney has been on the job for 40 years and is still enjoying it like day one.

Tuesday, Sweeney celebrates working as a doorman at the Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco, dressed in the iconic Beefeater costume.

It all started as a summer job, but he was having so much fun, he turned it into a career.

Even now, he still finds joy in the tedious parts of his job.

"The most asked question in 40 years is, 'Where does a cable car stop,' -- like 25,000 times a year that happens," Sweeney said. "The second most asked question is, 'Where is Fisherman's Wharf' -- like 15,000 times a year. And the third one is 'Where is there an ATM machine' -- that's like 5,000 times a year."

When asked if he gets tired of answering the questions Sweeney replied, "No, it's always from a different person."

Sweeney has run in the Bay to Breakers event in his Beefeater outfit -- been in soap operas and has even tackled a robber in it.
